Indore Hawker Association protests against ADB and Smart City project
Indore. Today, on April 29, 2017, a meeting was held at Krishnapura Chhatri to discuss the strategy to fight against the arbitrary actions taken by the Indore Municipal Corporation in the name of implementing the Smart City project.
The arbitrary actions include vandalising the roadside stalls and unleashing atrocities on the hawkers.
During the discussion, it was unanimously decided to take a referendum on whether Indore needs the Smart Cities project? It was also decided to sensitise the people about the adverse impacts of the smart cities on the general public. On the basis of the result of the referendum, the further strategy would be drawn.
The public meeting attended by the members of Right To Food, Public Rights Organisation, Madhyayam, the Hawkers and Retail Trade Organizations, and the general public.

आज दिनांक 29 अप्रेल 2017 को कृष्णपुरा छतरी में आयोजित बैठक जिसमे रोटी का संघर्ष, जन अधिकार संगठन, संस्था माध्यम, ठेला व फुटकर व्यापारी संगठन के सदस्यों और पदाधिकारियों ने हिस्सा लिया और स्मार्ट सिटी की आड़ में इंदौर नगर निगम प्रशाशन द्वारा की जा रही मनमानी, तोड़फोड़ और अत्याचारों से शहर को मुक्त करवाने हेतु आंदोलन की रणनीति पर चर्चा की गई जिसमें सर्वसम्मति से निर्णय लिया गया कि स्मार्ट सिटी के बारे में जनता की राय ली जाये और जनमत के आधार पर स्मार्ट सिटी के बारे में आगामी रणनीति तय की जाये. इस हेतु एक जनमत संग्रह का कार्यक्रम शुरू किया जायेगा जिसमे स्मार्ट सिटी प्रोजेक्ट के आम जनता के जीवन पर पड़ने वाले प्रभावों की जानकारी जनता को विभिन्न माध्यमों से दी जायेगी और जनता से राय ली जायेगी की क्या इंदौर को स्मार्ट सिटी प्रोजेक्ट की आवश्यकता है? जनता से प्राप्त जनमत के आधार पर आगामी रणनीति तय की जायेगी. अगर व्यापक रुप से जनता स्मार्ट सिटी का विरोध करती है तो इसके विरोध में विभिन्न चरणों में व्यापक आंदोलन चलाया जायेगा ।
